First Blog

Hello Readers. Welcome to my life, and welcome to my first blog ever. My big task for the day: Choose a recipe for my Church's ward party tomorrow. We are supposed to bring our favorite dessert. Right now I am debating between two chocolate chip cookie recipes I have recently tried, and a Midnight Ho Ho cake, or some cute little cake ball cupcakes. Or cupcake pops. In fact, it was while researching for this particular task that I decided to create this blog.

I just got back from a nice day at the park with some good friends. My kids worked out all their energy and are now sitting in a partially vegetative state watching T.V. I love it.

Now back to my dessert dilemma. I have a torte idea in mind that might be delicious. I will press a graham cracker crust into two nine inch round cake pans, and then top with brownie batter. Bake these, and then remove from pans. Put a layer of Marshmallow creme in the middle, and stack them. Top with marshmallow creme and marshmallows and chocolate chips --Milk chocolate of course. Take a torch to the top to brown the marshamllows, and ....YUMMY! A S'mores Torte. I think it sounds like a great idea, and I think it will work. Problem: I don't have a baking torch. Solution : Shopping trip! (I wonder if Wal Mart even has these?) I guess I could broil the top layer for a few minutes before I stack it. Hmmmmm.... WIll marshmallow creme hold up a second layer of the torte? I might have to mix it with another creme to keep it's hold.

Okay - three weeks from tomorrow I will be running my second 1/2 marathon. I am super duper excited for this. We have a great group of women (and some men) running it this year.
The training is going great, and I have enjoyed most of the runs. I am happy that other people are doing it with me. (Thanks Ya'll!)
Okay, now imagine holding a 5 lb weight in each hand and running 13 miles with it. I'd rather run without the weights, wouldn't you? My biggest problem is I would really like to take off about 10 pounds before the race. I think it will be much easier to run without the extra weight. (Really, I need to take off about 30 lbs, but I don't think that is possible in three weeks) I bet I could do eight pounds if I really work at it. I'll let you know how I do!

Okay -- signing out now. My first blog. Ever.
